TEST
I recently returned from the NDDI and am full of energy and ideas for
strengthening my diversity program this coming year. The facilitators, headed by
Rodney Glasgow, were fabulous. They provided us with so many opportunities for dialogue,
networking, encouragement, and genuine exchange with others doing similar work around
the country. I look forward to the mentorship I will receive this year and the regular dialogue
I will have with my cohort group. I highly recommend the NDDI to anyone committed to diversity
work, no matter your level of experience. This truly was the most enriching, worthwhile professional
development I have ever experienced.

The National Diversity Directors Institute was extremely beneficial
for me as I am entering a newly created diversity position at my school. The Institute
leadership, facilitators and guests created an atmosphere that fostered introspection
while presenting a guided process to examine the complexities of diversity work in
independent schools. I left the Institute with an increased knowledge and awareness of
the past challenges and current trends, feeling that my skill set was refined to meet the
challenges of future work in the field. I especially look forward to the mentorship and
cohort model that will provide continued support and feedback as I develop diversity
and inclusion objectives for my school.

My time spent at NDDI was powerful and transformative! I appreciated
working through the varied exercises and coming to my "ah ha!" moment. I valued
sharing with and learning from my peers from different parts of this country, all bound
by a similar driving force. I treasured the moments of quiet reflection through journaling.
As we prepare to embrace another academic year, I take comfort in knowing that I have a
cohort to draw strength and support from.

TESTIMONIALS

This institute provided order, authenticity, professionalism and dignity to diversity work. I made friendships and allies I will never forget. What we walked away with was worth many, many times more than the entry fee!

The 2015 National Diversity Directors Institute was a life-changing experience. I learned more in three days than I have learned in a while. The days were very long, and the experiences were meaningful both personally and professionally. We learned concrete strategies to integrate diversity issues into our work, and we were challenged to grow as human beings. No matter what role you serve in your school, NDDI will be helpful to you.

NDDI was unbelievable! It is difficult to fathom that this was NDDI's first year. The attendees were practitioners with different amounts and kinds of experiences. The faculty did an amazing job not only of taking the information and using different modes of facilitation to deliver the curriculum, but also meeting us where we were in our initial understanding. I truly found value in my attendance from the full toolkit that I graduated with, to the networking, to the strategic planning for the year ahead, and much more. I left the three day institute with a better understanding of my role in schools and re-energized to do this work in my school community. As Reverend Susan Blue said, "Diversity is the mix. Inclusivity is making the mix work!" The Director of Diversity in our schools cannot single-handedly make the mix work. As an Assistant Director of Admission attending a conference for diversity practitioners, I strongly recommend NDDI for educators in all departments because diversity work is everybody's work.

My experience at the NDDI was life changing in a way that no other seminar or workshop has been. I left exhausted, but with a burning desire to be an agent of change in my school. The work of Equity and Inclusion is everybody's responsibility, and together, step by step we can not only teach our students how to re-shape the world that they will inherit, but how to also have their voices heard, and to take their places at the "community tables "of their individual schools.

I cannot say enough about how much I learned from NDDI. The open conversations, varying activities, and mentors were absolutely incredible. I left excited and ready to implement change.

A powerful and transformative experience. I will continue to grow as a practitioner as a result of the cohort design and year-long mentoring provided by the NDDI faculty.
